However, that’s not to say we haven’t put a great deal of hard work into creating the Udderlicious you see today, and we expect the same dedication from our future partners.
Yes, we’ve already put the groundwork in place for you, and you don’t need to worry about starting entirely from scratch with a new concept, but how well you do is still going to come down to how much you put into it.
For that reason, we’re looking for people with the drive, ambition and the ability to follow our systems to become the business owners they’ve always dreamed about being.
A balance of skills
To run a business like this, you absolutely do need to have strong people skills. Building a rapport with your customers, not to mention your own team, will be one of the biggest factors in your success. If you plan to work in the store yourself, you very much need to be someone who can always greet customers with a smile and is happy to build those all-important relationships with everyone in your local community.
Even if you plan to hire someone else to do the day-to-day work, it is very important you understand the importance of great customer service, and are ready and willing to do it the Udderlicious way.
However, running a business also requires great organisational skills, a good sense for operations, and a certain savviness with money to help with accounting and budgeting, so our ideal partner is someone who has a balance of both these skills sets. If you think you’re strong in one, but not the other, you might even want to consider teaming up with someone who complements your strengths to work in partnership.
No experience required!
It would be great if you do have some previous experience of retail or food service but it is not essential. This is a business that can be learned, and our incredible training programme will see that you are set up with all the knowledge and skills you need. Likewise, you certainly don’t need to have experience running your own business before, but a good understanding of business operations and team leadership will certainly put you in very good stead.
Of course, you will also need to have the finances necessary to make the investment, but you’ll be amazed at just how much help there is out there. We’d be more than happy to point you in the right direction for more info.
